We have a customer trying to install the USB driver for the CP210X chip on Windows 7 and he can't get the install to work because it detects an older 3.0.4 version of the driver on the system and he cannot get rid of it. Our new driver I believe is listed as version 3.2 and is generated using the custom driver wizard to use our VID/PID and it has been driver signed. The user installed one of our older drivers which was version 3.0.4 of the USB driver and apparently he tried using some program on the net that was supposed to remove it from the system but the newer driver installation still detects the old driver and will not proceed. Any ideas how to get the system cleaned so the new driver will install? Thanks IP: Logged |

1. Try device manager, go to the COM port ant uninstall. 2. Manually delete the silabs DLLs and SYS files from Windows\SYSTEM32\Drivers; then search for SiLabs in the Windows\INF folder (in the files) and delete what comes up. Reboot. IP: Logged |
